Favorite Books: Brand Resources Edition

Fun fact: I love to read.

Ever since I was a kid, I could read books any day of the week.

Lucky for me, there are lots of useful books I can use as a resource in my business. These are some of my favorite books that have helped me grow as a designer and as a brand!

How to Style Your Brand by Fiona Humberstone

Humberstone educates designers on how to use psychology and emotions to craft a brand, but this book is also helpful for business owners to gain insight into what it takes to create a visual brand identity. It’s a great resource to also help design clients understand the process in order to more effectively communicate what they’re looking for. The book also takes a peek into the brand strategy behind brand creation to give the reader something to think about when working with a brand strategist and designer.

The Brand Gap by Marty Neumeier

I found this book to be helpful both as a business owner and as a designer! It discusses what a brand is and the power that comes from strong branding. Neumeier covers a brand from the inside out and demonstrates how to use branding to create a full experience that expands beyond the visual elements.

Thinking Like a Boss by Kate Crocco

If you’re looking for a mindset book, this one packs a punch. Crocco addresses mindset and limiting beliefs about yourself, capabilities, and the business in order to grow and make things happen to reach your goals! She even includes stories with actionable steps to help you stop holding yourself back. This is a must-read for all business owners.
